大同區是台北市最早發展的區域，包含大稻埕、大龍峒，人們熟悉的迪化街南北貨、永樂布料市場、承德路與太原路的各式各樣瓶瓶罐罐、五金材料、化工材料。在這裡有許多早期的洋房，融合在地廟宇及信仰，形成獨樹一格的臺北文化。
Daton District is an area developed the earliest in Taipei City, inclusive of Da-Dao-Chen and Da-lon-Don where all kind of the dried goods is located on De-hwa Street, and diverse household utensils, hardware, and chemical materials are respectively distributed over the Yong-le Fabric Market, Cheng-de Road, and Dai-yuan Road. Many a western-style houses built in early stage here are harmonized with local temples to form a unique Taipei belief and culture.
